A great (and inexpensive) Indian restaurant in the City of London

The setting is boring—a huge space in a characterless, converted Victorian hall—but the Indian cuisine is some of the best in London.

The owner, Bombay-born Chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE, has also added Goan specialties to the menu (try the three-alarm sorpotel pork), but you'll also taste Thai, Malay, Sri Lankan, and Singaporean influences.

The daily specials are usually right on the mark, or try the complex chicken curry dish of galinha xacutti.
