Then, cap your tour with a hop-on hop-off cruise along the Thames River, following the same route Harry takes when he flies over London on his broomstick.
Begin your morning or afternoon tour with pickup from your hotel, and hop inside the back of a classic London black cab. With your private driver-guide at the wheel, set off in search of filming locations from the Harry Potter movies.
Pause for a photo op outside Australia House, whose grandiose interior was featured in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as Gringotts Wizarding Bank; stroll over Lambeth Bridge, where the Knight Bus squeezed in between two double-decker buses in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; and visit Leadenhall Market, a beautiful, covered Victorian market, where you’ll find the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron.
Continue to the pub that was transformed into the Third Hand Book Emporium, and discover the real-life square used as Grimmauld Place (spoiler alert: there are no moving houses) before arriving at King’s Cross Station. Take the ultimate souvenir photo with a disappearing luggage trolley under the Platform 9¾ sign, and then finish your black cab tour with a visit to the Ministry of Magic.
When the time comes, say goodbye to your guide and head to the Thames River for your cruise. See Millennium Bridge, which was destroyed by Death Eaters in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; glide past the Houses of Parliament and under Tower Bridge; and follow the same route Harry takes when he flies his broomstick over the river in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Choose to stay on the cruise boat for its full loop, or hop on and off at Tower Pier or Greenwich Pier to continue sightseeing independently.
Please note: Your cruise voucher is valid for 24 hours from the start of your black cab tour; it can be used directly after your tour or later within the 24-hour period.

On the Road River Splash Tour you begin the journey outside the magnificent Windsor Castle first visiting the great statue of Queen Victoria followed by Henry VIII Gate. You then continue down past the Royal Mews towards the Victoria Barracks, then venturing down the Kings Road taking in the magnificent views of the Long Walk & Crown Estate.
You then work your way along the riverside village of Datchet with stunning views of the River Thames as you cross both the Albert & Victoria bridge. Arriving back into Windsor you venture along the river front towards your slipway at Windsor Leisure Centre. On arrival at the slipway there is a brief but important safety announcement, after which you then splashdown into the River Thames!
After the excitement of the splashdown has calmed you cruise down the Thames to experience the breathtaking views of the castle from the river. Your live guide will educate & entertain throughout your tour with the rich history and stories that Windsor has to offer. The final completion of the tour drops you right back where you started so you can continue your adventure of Windsor by foot.
- CruiseDirect.com - One of the top cruise discounters in the business, consistently underselling the higher rack rates you'll see posted on the web sites of the cruise companies themselves. CruiseDirect.com even has a last-minute page with discounts on soon-to-leave ships.Partner
- Cruisecompete.com - You know the commercials for LendingTree.com? That whole "When banks compete, you win..." spiel? Well this the same thing for cruises. You put in the date and destination and ship (any or all of those), and it sends your cruise request to a whole bunch of cruise brokers and discounters. Each of them then contacts you with a quote on how little they can do that cruise for you. Basically, it does the shopping around for you, pretty cool, huh? Partner
- Priceline.com - The famous discounter of hotels rooms also does cruises.Partner
- CruiseCritic.com - Editorial site with ship reviews, plenty of good crusing intel, and very active forums. (Disclosure: I have written for them, and have several friends on the editorial staff.)
- Singlescruise.com - Books groups of singles (ages 21 on up, but mostly 35–55) onto cruise ships, offering its own onboard program of events and mixers—and, most importantly, matching you with a same-gender cabinmate (of roughly the same age) so you don't have to pay the dreaded "single supplement."
- Viator.com - Loads of local river boat rides, from sighseeing crusies and dinner cruises to hop-on/hop-off boats, high-speed boat rides on the Thames to a punting tour of Cambridge. With user reviews and current pricing, the best place to comparison shop the various companies.Partner
- Citycruises.com - standard cruises & dining cruises
- Bateauxlondon.com - dining cruises, music cruises
- Thamescruises.com - party boats
- Londoneye.com - standard cruises

- Cruisecritic.com - Independent website devoted to cruising in all its forms, with very active user forums and loads of intel on ships, cruise lines, ports of call, etc. Probably the #1 place to go online for cruise info. Now owned by TripAdvisor—though they apparently know you don't mess with success and their presence is largely unfelt. (Disclosure: Several of the senior editors of this site happen to be friends of mine—though I've been recommending it since long before I met any of them, and before they worked there.)
- Cruisemates.com - Similar to CruiseCritic—though rather smaller—with good message boards and some editorial content as well.
- Singlescruise.com - Books groups of singles (ages 21 on up, but mostly 35–55) onto cruise ships, offering its own onboard program of events and mixers—and, most importantly, matching you with a same-gender cabin mate (of roughly the same age) so you don't have to pay the dreaded "single supplement." Nice Northern Ireland itinerary.
- Gadventures.com - G Adventures is always good for a sailing trip along the Scottish islands (often accompanied by a trip up the Norwegian coast).Partner
- Expeditions.com - National Geographic/Lindblad Expeditions are not cheap, but certainly top quality—especially since Lindblad teamed up with the venerable National Geographic to co-brand their adventurous cruises around the British Isles (plus Antarctica, the Galapagos, Alaska, Svalbard, the Amazon, Egypt, West Africa, Panama and Costa Rica, Papua New Guinea, the Mekong, the Pacific Northwest, Baja, Greek Islands, the Baltic, New Zealand, and a few other less exotic destinations).
- Travltips.com - For a truly offbeat adventure, book a berth on an ocean freighter. Yes, container ships and cargo liners often have quite nice cabins available for paying passengers. They charge about $100 a day, including meals, and voyages tend to be long—most at least a month and change, some two or three months. There won't be a lido deck, or a stand-up comedian in a theater, or that many other passengers (most can accommodate just five to twelve people), but you will get a unique ocean-going experience of long days at sea, BBQs and movie nights with the crew, and a chance to experience the kind of genuine nautical life few cruisers will ever know.
